Helping the needy elderly

March 22, 2011

SMRT’s Silver Tribute Fund (STF) is marking the 4th year of fundraising by extending its reach to over 8,000 needy elderly in Singapore. To commemorate this milestone, SMRT is elevating its fundraising activity to a national level through its first-ever TV charity show on May 8, 2011, at 7pm on MediaCorp Channel 8. This year, it is raising funds for 8,000 needy elderly from eight beneficiaries in Singapore including: Alzheimer’s Disease Association, Ang Mo Kio Family Service Centres, AWWA Community Home for Senior Citizens, Geylang East Home for the Aged, Singapore Leprosy Relief Association Home, Society of Moral Charities, Tan Tock Seng Hospital Community Charity Fund and TRANS SAFE Centre.

Some of the programme highlights also include a special song debut by Olivia Ong and Jesseca Liu, as well as radio-friendly oldies and well-loved Cantonese opera performed by celebrities from Hong Kong and Taiwan. This is a real TV treat for the whole family this Mother’s Day! So open you pockets and wallets and donate. Alternatively, if you want to donate before the show, you can do so at: http://www.sggives.org/silvertributefund.
