Heartened by actress’ charitable efforts
I AM heartened by the report, “Actress Jesseca Liu sings duet for charity” (my paper, May 25). Despite her hectic work schedule, Liu still makes time to bring cheer to the elderly by visiting old folk’s homes.
She has made every effort to engage old folk who need care and concern. Talking to them will go a long way in making them feel wanted and loved.
Her attitude should be emulated by others, especially the young who are oblivious of the plight of the disadvantaged.
By interacting with the elderly, the young will benefit from the treasure trove of life experiences the elderly have accumlated.
More young people should come forward to lend a helping hand and an attentive ear to those who are old and lonely. This will help to cement the value of caring for others in our youth.
